📚 Course Overview

CSCI 6323 is a hands-on graduate course in server-side web development that teaches you to build production-ready REST APIs using both JavaScript and C# ecosystems. This 8-week intensive follows a dual-stack approach: you'll master modern JavaScript, Node.js, and Express.js before transitioning to C#, ASP.NET Core, and enterprise architecture patterns.

What You'll Learn:

• 🟨 JavaScript/Node.js Stack: ES6+, Node.js core concepts, Express.js, REST API design, and npm ecosystem
• 🟦 C#/.NET Stack: C# fundamentals, ASP.NET Core Web API, service layer architecture, and dependency injection
• 🗄️ Database Integration: MySQL with both ecosystems, query optimization, and data modeling
• 🔐 Authentication & Security: JWT implementation, authorization patterns, and SQL injection prevention
• 🎯 Real-World Projects: Build complete APIs from scratch, culminating in a custom final project

Format: Lectures on Tuesdays, hands-on labs on Thursdays. Assessment includes two written exams with multiple choice and written answers (midterm over JavaScript/Node.js/Express, final over C#/.NET), plus projects and weekly assignments. By the end, you'll have working REST APIs in both JavaScript and C# for your portfolio.

Grading: Midterm Exam (20%), Final Exam (20%), Express.js Project (15%), C# Labs (15%), Final C# Project (15%), Weekly Assignments (10%), Participation (5%)
